Packing lamp for moving may appear tough due to their unusual design, but Local Cheap Brisbane Movers will tell you how to pack your lamps with these simple steps mentioned below.
Disassemble the lamp
The first step should be to disassemble your lamp. To avoid damage, the bulb, lamp shade, and lamp base should be packed individually. Unscrew the bulb and set it aside. Then, remove the lamp shade so that the shade and base are separated.
Wrap the cord around the base or secure it with cable ties to keep it clean and out of the way. If you have a variety of lamps, pack each one separately so that no parts get mixed up.
Wrap the lamp with care
If you don’t have the original packaging for your lamp, you’ll need to buy moving boxes. Moving boxes are useful since they come in a variety of sizes, so you should be able to find one that fits your light.
Measure it before purchasing the box to ensure that you obtain the correct size. Wrap the light bulb with packing paper or bubble wrap. All light bulbs should be placed in a small box or container and carefully labeled.
You can also use the boxes with cardboard dividers used to transport cups and glasses because they are the perfect size for light bulbs.
Place it in a box
If the lampshades nest well within each other, you can neatly stack them to transport many lamp shades in the same box. Fill the empty spaces in the box with packing peanuts or scrunched up packing paper to act as padding.
As cushioning, you can also use tea towels, stockings, or any other soft material. You want to keep the empty space in the box as small as possible to avoid the box being crushed or squished during the move.
